to the group of drugs called macrolide antibiotics. This type of drug functions
by fighting bacteria in the body.
Biaxin(Clarithromycin) Indications
The Biaxin(Clarithromycin) antibiotic is used to treat
infections or diseases caused by bacteria like pneumonia, bronchitis,
tonsillitis, sinusitis, infections in the skin and stomach ulcers, amongst
others.
Biaxin(Clarithromycin) Warnings
Biaxin(Clarithromycin) should not be used if you have any kind of liver or
kidney disease. Please consult a doctor first if you suffer from these
diseases.Biaxin(Clarithromycin) belongs to the FDA
pregnancy category C, which means that it may cause harm to unborn babies. If
you are pregnant, want to become pregnant or are currently breast-feeding, make
sure to consult a doctor before taking this medicine. Biaxin(Clarithromycin) may
increase your skin's sensitivity to sunlight so avoid too much or prolonged
exposure to the sun, use sunscreen and wear protective clothing.
Biaxin(Clarithromycin) Intake Guidelines
It is necessary to take
Biaxin(Clarithromycin) exactly as prescribed by the doctor. In case you did not

further. Biaxin(Clarithromycin) is usually taken with a full glass of water.
Biaxin(Clarithromycin) XL should be taken with food and water.

Antihistamines such as
terfenadine and astemizole

Seizure medications which
include carbamazepine, phenytoin and valproic acid

Asthma medications like theophylline
·
Anticoagulants like warfarin
·
Heart medicines for irregular
heartbeats, like digoxin and disopyramide
·
Ergotamine or
dihydroergotamine
·
HMG-COA Reductase Inhibitors
like atorvastin, simvastatin , lovastatin and others
·
Benzodiazepines like diazepam,
triazolam, alprazolam and others
·
Sildenafil or vardenafil
·
Any other antibiotics
